Whale: how to play
Tap a steady beat. Pick who says the first “whale”.
Players
2 or more.
What you need
Hands for a table beat. Same booth as strawberry. Different word.
Setup
Tap a steady beat. Pick who says the first “whale”.
How to play
- First person says “whale” short, on the beat.
- Next person stretches it: “wha-a-ale”.
- Longer each turn. Do not swap in a new animal. This ain’t the zoo.
Example round
“whale” / “wha-ale” / “whaaa-aaale”. Hangul is gorae. Same stretch.
When the round ends
Miss the beat or the stretch and you’re out this round.
Common mistake
Turning it into strawberry halfway, or dropping the beat like the plug got pulled.
No-alcohol version
Play exactly the same rules with water, soda, tea or no drinks at all. When someone is out this round, they simply sit out, start the next round, or take a light forfeit the table agreed on beforehand — such as choosing the next game or spinning the wheel.
Play responsibly
Soju Playland is for adults. If you choose to drink, you must be of legal drinking age where you are (for example 19 in South Korea and 21 in the United States) — and the site itself is for ages 18 and up. Drinking is never part of the rules: nobody has to drink, a pass is always fine, and water or soda works for every game. Never pressure anyone to drink, never treat these games as a drinking contest, and never drink and drive.
